Cabsnoozer is the first in-cab hammock for short and long haul truck drivers that lack a sleeper cab, designed to satisfy the need for a comfortable way to sleep during mandatory tachograph rest stops and extended periods of waiting.
The Cabsnoozer was conceived by a seasoned truck driver with over 35 years behind the wheel as the perfect answer to the general fatigue and ‘heavy eye syndrome’ that results from driving long and often unsociable hours. Tired of trying to nap with feet on the dashboard, or curled up around the gear lever, the Cabsnoozer in-cab hammock was the perfect answer.
Cabsnoozer improves safety by providing a decent power nap to refresh the day-cab driver, and somewhere to get comfortable when stranded. Ideal as an emergency overnight bunk it could also save accommodation costs. For less than the price of a dozen Starbucks it effectively converts a day-cab into a sleeper.
The Cabsnoozer is a simple hammock which fits across the width of the cab, using a sewn-in beading trapped either over the tops of the doors or in the fully closed electric windows. Either method will support a driver over 25 stone in weight (tested to 29.5 stone without breaking). For US or EU customers that’s 417lbs, or 189 kilos.
Designed to allow fitting to almost any cab using width adjustments to suit all sizes. By repositioning the beading rod in a choice of sewn in slots, the Cabsnoozer will fit most cabs from 7.5 tonnes upwards. The Cabsnoozer is 61cm wide and 1950cm long.
The simple fact is, there is nowhere in a day-cab to stretch out and sleep in any degree of comfort, the best achievable being to try and lay across the seats, navigating the gear lever, handbrake, cup-holders, cubby boxes and other uncomfortable appendages in the way. The close proximity of the rear bulkhead prevents seats from being reclined, and the dashboard is too close to put feet up onto satisfactorily.
At Cabsnoozer, we produce high-quality products for truck driver comfort and safety. All our products come with a 10 year repair or replacement guarantee. For further information and to speak to one of the UK team please contact us – get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
Yes, (this is the most frequently asked question). The windows need to be fully closed to trap the edge of the Cabsnoozer, and have been tested on a Euro 6 DAF LF to 29.5 stone without giving way. That’s 417lbs or 189 kilos.
The Cabsnoozer will comfortably accommodate drivers up to 25 stone or more, and has been tested to just under 30 stone. It’s like sitting on a bicycle, there must be a limit, and common sense provides it.
Yes it can do on a warm day, so the Cabsnoozer can be used over the top of the doors, or over one door and one window, so that you can open a window or two.
Tight. Put the rod in the slot that gives you the tightest closure you can manage as you will get the best rest with less of a dip.
Take your boots off if they are muddy and stand on the seat between the Cabsnoozer and the back wall of the cab. Roll into the Cabsnoozer, you’ll find it a natural movement, rather like getting into the top of a bunk bed. You won’t want to get out.
Open the windows first and hold the end of the Cabsnoozer with your arm through the window as you close the door with the other hand.
Wash off muddy boot marks with a sponge.
Fold down the sun-visors and you will not be visible in the Cabsnoozer from outside the cab.
It will work in most cabs of 7.5 tonnes upwards to the biggest which is the Renault Magnum. Smaller vehicles may not have enough width inside to stretch out. A table on this website shows you which cabs and which adjustments will work. If you have an unusual truck or an old model not featured, we’d be pleased to have your contribution to this table.
